The nearest swimming lakeside beach on the Lac de Sanguinet is approximately 500 metres away. The lake is a freshwater lake, roughly the same size as the island of Guernsey, and it is very shallow around the perimeter, so it retains the heat from the sun. Consequently, it is possible to swim in the lake from May to October. During the summer months the normal water temperature at the lake is 26C!
